While daddy is driving, "Don't go down, we have the baby!!" I'm not quite sure what this one means.
We were up at the cabin this past weekend. There was lots of drama two out of the three nights at bedtime. Her excuse, "I am sick & tired. And sad and nervous." She doesn't even know what nervous means, but holy cow, she was nervous!
We were up at the cabins this weekend. Abby had a blast at Carefree Acres. She went on a four wheeler ride with daddy and played with her cousin Brianna. On the way home, we stopped in McGreggor. She got to see Casey, Michael & Thomas and went on her first boat ride in Kevin's boat. We stopped and had pizza at Mark's Bar (Abby wanted a grilled cheese) and had ice cream cones at the old School House for dessert. All in all, it was a pretty good weekend. The weather was gorgeous!!

More funnies from Abby
Monday, August 07, 2006
The other night, after trying to get Abby to bed at least a half a dozen times, she comes out of her bedroom again. I was in the kitchen. She walks up and says, "Mommy, I can't go to sleep, it's just too boring!" Isn't it supposed to be boring? That's the whole point!
She had a hang nail the other day. Tony cut it off, but it was bleeding a little bit. Abby says, "I need a bandaid, my toe is blooding!"
We were at Rosedale the other day. We walked by Claire's. I asked Abby if she wanted to get her ears pieced again. She looks and me and frowns and says matter-of-factly, "I'm never doing that again!"
Last night, she got a sliver in her big toe from the deck. We had to get it out so it didn't get infected. Holy cow can that girl scream. Our neighbors probably think that we torture our children. We did finally get it out, but it took three of us!

I would pay money to get into Abby's head.
The other day we couldn't find the remote for the cable box. We tore the house apart for two days. Iasked Abby if she knew where it was. I asked her if she could help us look for it. She played dumb. "I don't know where it is. The remote is lost. Where could it be." Yesterday, Jessie called me at work and said that Abby showed her where the remote was. She put it in the back of the drawer under a bunch of stuff. Little stinker!!
The power went out a couple of weeks ago and the TV turned off while she was watching something. She says, "Don't worry, I'll fix it with my egg remote". She was very peeved when she realized that it wasn't going to work no matter what remote we used.
Last night, she decided to cuddle with me while Tony took a shower. She gave me a hug and said, "Mommy you have beautiful eyebrows." Where did that come from. Beautiful eyebrows?!

Yeah!! Pierced Ears!!
Saturday, July 29, 2006
Well, she did it. She was so brave! I had butterflies in my stomach for her. I knew what was coming and I just wanted to cry. I asked her about a dozen times if she wanted to do it. She saw a baby get her ears pierced and she still said yes. She did cry. And afterwards said that it hurt real bad :0( But she did SO good!! They make her look like such a big girl. My baby has earings!!

Earings?
Well, I'll post more later, but I think we are going to take Miss Abby to get her ears pierced today. We're going to Eric & Corinna's house warming party and then I think we are going to head to the Mall of America and get some earings. She seems pretty excited right now. That may change in a little bit. She was promised some Camp Snoopy rides if she goes through with it. That just may help her out.

a new mommy in the house
Friday, July 21, 2006

My mom and I went to a Tupperware party the other night. Abby stayed with Grandpa Willy. When we got back, grandpa was telling me about their evening of adventures. Abby told grandpa that she was going shopping and asked if he would babysit her babies. He said yes. She called him from the mall on her cell phone to ask how the babies were. He told her that they were sleeping. She told him that no, they weren't. They were just being very quiet.
We had an Abby & Emma photo shoot on the back porch. I love how the pics turned out! I love Abby's expression, Emma's little tongue sticking out, Emma holding Abby's finger and Abby's love for her little sister that just pours out of the picture. Too cute!!

And the award for best performance in a drama goes to...
Friday, July 07, 2006
ABBY! Holy Cow this child is dramatic. We are frantically working on trying to curb the drama. So far, not working so well :0( We have to keep reminding ourselves that bring Emma into our family is partly to blame. I mean, everything in Abby's little life changed the day Emma was born. We all of a sudden have this brand new baby living with us. Mommy's home from work. She's not at Grandma's every day with her friends.
She and Emma get along great though, Thank Heavens!! Abby loves her little sister. As a matter of fact, they played doctor today. Abby was an excellent doctor and Emma was a very patient patient.
Abby is growing into such a big girl. She has just shot up in height the past couple of months. Girl needs to slow down!!!

Kids say the darndest things
Tuesday, June 13, 2006
We were at Fleet Farm the other day. While in the check out, Abby made friends with the elderly couple behind us. She had been talking with the man for a little bit when she asked him, "What's your grandma's name?" His "grandma" was his wife. Ooops.

Lazy days of summer...
Sunday, June 04, 2006

The girls and I spent the last two days lounging around Abby's kiddie pool. It's been so hot! Abby has a blast playing in the water. I think this fall we are going to get her into some swimming classes at NE. I also want to get her into ballet. She looks so darn cute in a tutu!
We BBQed last night. Eric brought over his new puppy, Buddy. Abby had a blast chasing him around.
She and Emma were cuddling this morning. It was pretty precious. Emma was watching her with a big smile on her face and even cooed a bit. Abby has decided that her little sister is cuddle-ish. Yes, Miss Abby, she certainly is!

A bunch of fussy butts!
Why is it that when one is crabby and whiney, they both need to be crabby and whiney?! It's been a long couple of days! Both Abby and Emma have required a lot of attention. Mommy needs a break! I think it's Daddy's night to hang out with the girls. I am going to take a nice long, hot bath and chill!
I am taking the girls downtown tomorrow for lunch with some of my coworkers. Should be an adventure!

Abby update...finally!!
Monday, May 29, 2006
So it's been a little while since we've posted. Oops!
Miss Abby is a three year old. She's really grown and matured a lot since Emma was born. She is also still highly dramatic. She will get upset and start crying. You ask why she's crying and through the tears she says, "I don't know. I'm just being dramatic." Silly little girl. Her potty training is finally going great. She's pretty self sufficient and has had very few accidents since Emma's arrival. The downside of having a pottying girl...she insists on checking out the bathroom where ever we may go. That gets a little old after awhile. It takes three times as long when you're towing two around. And half the time, she sits on the potty and says she doesn't have to go. Grr. Abby has quite the vivid imagination and loves to make-believe she is a mommy.
This past Friday we took the girls to Minnehaha Falls for a walk. Abby thought it was the coolest thing ever. She loved the falls. Her listening ears weren't on very good though. She was running away from Daddy and wiped out. Her knee is bruised and she has a nasty little scrape on her elbow. I guess you learn the hard way.
We spent the rest of the weekend shopping for a new couch and loveseat. I think Abby has had her share of furniture stores for awhile. Three days in a bunch of different stores. She's done. She did enjoy the cookies at HOM Furniture though (on two different occasions). We did find a couch. We decided to get a sectional. I am pretty excited. We opted for a piece they call a cuddler. It's this big oversized chaise/chair piece that is SO cozy. Prefect place for reading bedtime stories to the girls. We should have it in 8-10 weeks.
