a day in the life of abby

a little peek into the crazy life of a three year old drama queen.

Abby at 4

Friday, July 27, 2007

You still continue to amaze me every day! Four years old suits you well. You have grown so much and mature more and more daily. Recently you have started writing your name and ask for us to write other things on paper so you can copy them. The other night, you wrote Abby, Emma, Dad, Mom, Abigail and you tried to write Johnson! For some reason when you write your name, you use three B's. That's ok! You are doing an awesome job with letter and number association. I was struggling with how we were going to teach you these things and it seems you're picking it up all by yourself!

You still come up with some pretty crazy things and are really great at making us all laugh. Last night you told Emma that she was such a lucky girl because she got new Dora pj's. Everything you say is SO animated. You'd be an excellent little actress. Speaking of, you love to sing and dance and have your video & picture taken. You are just like your Auntie Jessie when she was little. And people still call you my little mini-me.

Your behavior has been improving and you've been earning fun rewards like a Twins game, Chuck E Cheese, the Park at MOA. As a matter of fact, we get to go hang out at Chuck E Cheese tomorrow after we finish painting the garage.

We got your school papers in the mail today. I can't get over the fact that my baby is going to start school! It seems like just yesterday daddy and I were making the trek to the hospital in a blizzard - for your arrival! I was thinking about that the other day. That ride was one of the scariest, longest, most uncomfortable rides ever! My water had already broken, so I was leaking. I was having some pretty intense contractions and I am such a baby when it comes to pain. I was terrified for what lay ahead and was super anxious to meet the little one who spent the last nine months growing in my belly. And to top it all off, there was SO much snow on the ground. None of the streets were plowed and daddy kept plowing through the snow and the truck bounced around the whole trip. NOT FUN!! You made your arrival a few hours later and made that long drive completly worth while!

Abby's First Twins Game

Saturday, July 21, 2007

We took Abby to the Twin's game on Tuesday. Tony and I were going to go to the game and had previously talked about bringing Abby to a game, so we traded up our two tickets for three and all went. The game was SO boring! A pitcher's dual and we lost 1-0, but Abby was a trooper! She lasted three innings and we went for a little walk. Came back to our seats for another 3 innings and then took another walk for treats. She bought a "Mauer" jersey bear and got Emma a TC Bear. She thought it was pretty cool!! Where else can you get hotdogs & cracker jacks for dinner? Flag down a concession guy and have him toss you a bag of cotton candy? And top it all off with an ice cream sundae and chocolate covered strawberries and bananas?!! Only at the dome!

Another Abby Funny!

Friday, May 11, 2007

The other night Abby went to bed after Tony had asked her to pick up some things in the living room. He got her back up, asked her again to pick up. She must have picked up a couple of things and went back to bed. It wasn't to Tony's liking, so he got her up again. Same thing. He tried one more time. Her response was, "I am sick of you getting me up every two minutes. Now stop!"
